Monday, April 2 was the first day of class for the Sewing for Souls school in Haiti, led by our Haitian teacher Marie Lourdes.
In the first class, the women learned how to use the treadle machines. The school meets twice a week on Monday and Tuesday, so the women will have had four lessons by the time our team of four arrives for a week long intensive workshop with the women.
We now have nineteen working sewing machines at the school. They consist of a variety of different models, so it will be a challenge just to teach the women how to operate each machine. My intention is that the women will rotate between the treadle machines and the different models of electric machines so that they are able to operate any of them.
Please continue to keep this project in your prayers.
